Strawberry Vinegar

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (500 mL) strawberries, sliced
  • 1.5 cups (375 mL) white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar

Description

  1. In small saucepan heat vinegar to a boil, then place strawberries in a medium size jar with a lid; pour vinegar over strawberries and seal jar.
  2. Let stand for 3-4 days or until vinegar takes on a bight red color. Strain through a fine sieve, pressing to extract liquid: discard pulp. Heat vinegar with sugar until sugar dissolves: pour into a clean jar with a lid. Store the refrigerator.
