What a season it was for BC Strawberries! The major part of our 2009 harvest is over and it is now time to just enjoy whatever strawberries you may have stored. We sincerely hope that all our loyal supporters of BC strawberries managed to get enough of those juicy strawberries during the season to last until after the 2010 Olympics!
If you have not had enough of our BC strawberries, there are a few growers who have limited supplies of late ripening strawberries. Whether it is greenhouse grown or what we call “ever-bearing” strawberries, there will be more strawberries harvested until hopefully sometime in September. These strawberries may show up in small corner markets or even restaurants. So when you visit some of the farms on our list of farms, you may be lucky to find BC strawberries there among their kindred berries…raspberries, blueberries, blackberries etc. or just the vegetables produced locally.
Thank you for supporting our BC Strawberry growers. We greatly value the tremendous support we received this year from consumers and media. Strawberry growers want to build on this support and do an even better job next season in supplying the best possible BC Strawberries.
